Let the ANGUSalive app light up your living room with our amazing group fitness instructors bringing live streamed classes to you! Workout with us live or at a time that fits your home life with our On Demand workouts.

With our Live Streaming commencing on Monday 25 January 2021, make sure you download our app via the Google play or Apple store today. 

The Live Streaming and On Demand classes within the ANGUSalive app will be part of a trial period which has now been extended to 31 March 2021. It’s important to highlight that this service will be an ‘add-on’ to our existing membership offerings, once the trial period is over members will need to add it to their membership with us to access this.

We’ll share more details on this once confirmed and we hope that members will enjoy using this service and providing us with valuable feedback as part of the trial period.

Live Streaming

As a bACTIVE member, you will now be able to take part in our Live Stream classes with your favourite instructors doing workouts such as Body Combat, Gentle Aerobics, PIYO, High Intensity Interval Training and Indoor Group Cycling to name just a few. The full timetable of activities can be found in the Live Streaming section of the app.

On Demand

There are a selection of workouts loaded and ready to go in the 'On Demand' section already, including Core Stability, Bums and Tums or a HIIT Workout, which are currently free of charge to all users and some of our live stream workouts will also be made available here.

We also use HealthKit to allow users to share their activity and workout data with the app. This data is used to incentivise users to stay active.

Once we reopen our doors once again, the app will also enable all members to do the following at the touch of a button:

• Check timetables.
• Book fitness classes, gym or swim sessions.
• Add yourself to a waiting list and be notified when a place becomes available for you.
• Cancel your class place at the touch of a button.

Who will be hosting our Live Streaming?

I am looking forward to reconnecting with our members! Exercise is so important for our physical and mental health. To be able to deliver all the benefits exercise brings to our members again is a great feeling. Members can expect high energy, terrible jokes, possibly some bad dancing and a great workout.

Classes are a great chance to escape the crazy world we live in at the moment and so after a workout you can get back to really feeling good again!

My advice to members is to not put too much pressure on yourself. You will have good and bad days. Workout when you feel up to it and if you miss a workout we will all be waiting for you in the next session. Also give yourself plenty of room and lastly don't forget to stay hydrated throughout the workout. See you all very soon!

Members can expect a fun and exciting class taught in an environment, where if they're new and don't feel too confident, they can work on building their confidence from home.

The live streaming will support our members in their fitness journeys and make them feel a part of a bigger community than just these classes.

We all come in various forms, sizes and ages and this is a great way to try something that you might have thought about but not had the confidence to come to a centre. Build your confidence at home and when we re-open you can join our classes at your local sports centes and meet lots of people from your community.

Everyone is welcome to take part. Whilst classes may be tough, there are a wide range of options that cater to all types of fitness levels. Try something you haven’t tried before! Get out of your comfort zone and feel good that you have 😊

I've been doing workouts at home myself but I'm very much looking forward to reaching out to more people and sharing the energy of my classes. Whether you are new to group fitness or have been doing it for years, with our live stream classes you can work to your own pace and still enjoy the atmosphere of group exercise from your own home.

I aim to provide a fun but challenging workout with great music! The benefit of being at home is, no one is watching, so you can sing and dance as much as you want. 

A great tip for live streaming workouts is to use headphones, have some water and a towel nearby. Don’t worry if you don’t have any of the equipment I’m using, you can still have a great workout without it! If you’re brand new and a bit worried feel free to just watch, then try one track, then two and build it up from there. 

I am most looking forward to connecting with members again, welcoming newbies, and hopefully bring some normality to peoples’ days again!

While a live class atmosphere cannot be recreated from home 100%, I will aim to deliver a class as if I was in one of the centres. I understand everyone is in different places fitness wise and people will have different strengths and areas they want to develop. My aim is the same with live classes, and I want my participants to feel a sense of accomplishment, which will be personal to everyone whilst enjoying themselves at the same time. 

Having the option of having a regular workout schedule with live stream is something I’m sure will help our members stay sane in this pretty crazy time! Not only that but exercise has been proven to boost mental health which is something we can all do with right now.

As a participant, your camera will be off! We can’t see you therefore it is a perfect time to try a new class. I was a beginner not too long ago and I remember sometimes being self-conscious about taking options that made the class more accessible to me. Now as an instructor, I certainly do not feel this way anymore but I understand what it’s like for beginners. Being online takes away this feeling therefore I’d say there’s never been a better time to try something new!​

I am most looking forward to being able to bring the fantastic new releases to our current and hopefully some new class members online.

My sessions will provide a great at home workout that promises to get your heart rate up, get sweaty and have some fun. There will always be lots of options for you to make it as challenging or as easy as you want it to be, making it suitable for all different fitness levels.

Our live streaming programme can help you stay active by providing you with a variety of different workouts and programmes either live at scheduled times, or on demand for you to access at a time that suits you. It provides the opportunity for our regular participants to stay involved with their favourite classes and workouts, as well as the chance for new participants to try out something new from the comfort of their own home.  Booking a class will help provide structure to your day and make being active part of your daily routine.

My top tips for customers on joining a live stream class would be to just give it a go! Set yourself up in a space where you can move safely and comfortably and connect your device up to a speaker so you can turn the volume up and enjoy the music and the workout.

I am most looking forward to teaching a programme that I love to people from the comfort of their own homes. My very first programme was Body Balance and I love the way it makes you feel and hope to bring that passion across in live streaming. 

Body Balance is an amazing class for mind, body and soul. I will be teaching the new release which contains yoga-based moves and Pilates, all choreographed to beautiful music. With the current situation we all need to take some time for ourselves to relax, stretch out and bring some calm and happiness to our lives. 

Live streaming Body Balance will allow us to come together and enjoy an amazing workout. It includes moves to strengthen your entire body all at low impact. We spend longer stretching than you would in other classes which will make you more flexible allowing you to take part in other classes with less risk of injury. 

Live streaming is a bit daunting for everyone especially instructors but remember no one can see you. It's the best way to try out new classes and decide which one is best for you. You will have an instructor to guide you through every step of the way and you don’t have to worry if you are doing it right or that anyone else is watching. It will also allow us all to get a little bit of a routine back in our lives. 

What I’m most looking forward to about the Live Streaming sessions are that we’ll be able to reach our customers again and hopefully attract new participants too. Also I’m looking forward to being a part of an online exercise community where we can all enjoy workouts together.

Our ANGUSalive customers can expect great energy and enthusiasm from my sessions using a variety of movements to target all areas of the body. The movements provided will all be scalable and have progressions and regressions allowing inclusion for each participant and the choice to manage their own intensity levels.

Our Live Streaming programme will support our Angus residents to be more active by offering a wide and varied programme which is accessible and initially FREE! You can join us live or play back workouts in the comfort of your own home. You don’t need a big space, just enough room to move safely. These workouts will provide participants with not only a physical release but also a mental outlet which is crucial during these challenging times.

I'm looking forward to reconnecting with customers that used to attend my classes and to having new customers join us and give my classes a go.

Our sessions will be good fun and a great way to help everyone get back into a fitness routine - which we all know is great for one's mental and physical health.

Live streaming will be great for Angus residents as this will give them the opportunity to try out different workouts from the comfort of their own homes without the pressures of a class environment where they may not feel comfortable or confident in. Hopefully, these classes will help build their confidence to then come to the classes when we re-open again.

My top tip to everyone is to use this time to ease yourself back into classes and use the options available if you haven't been exercising for a while.  If you have been able to work out at home during the lockdown use this time to push yourself that little bit more with the harder options. If it gets too much and you need to stop no one will see this and you can try again next time.

I’m looking forward to letting those that don’t normally get the chance, to get involved. This might be because they work too late, can’t get childcare or just can’t commit to a regular schedule. It’s a great way to exercise without the normal barriers that stop some from being able to attend a gym.

Customers can expect uplifting, motivational music (I’m a DJ too) with sessions that will push participants to be their best but enjoy it at the same time. Make sure you’ve got your speakers turned up as loud as you can, you want that beat to help drive you! And you need to hear me cheering you along!

WHERE AND HOW CAN I DOWNLOAD THE APP?

The app is available as a free download in the Apple Store and in Google Play. Simply search for ANGUSalive.

DO I NEED A LOGIN TO USE THE APP?

You do not need to login in to use the app, all the content in the app is available to be viewed, it only prompts users to login when required. You will be prompted to login when making bookings or to view live streams for example. Please note that once logged in it won’t ask members to do this again. During the free trial period you will not be required to login.

SOME HANDY TIPS TO HELP YOU MAKE THE MOST OF THE APP

Connecting and streaming your workout onto your TV?

When watching Live Streams or On Demand videos, customers have the option to cast to their TV or laptop by using the cast button which will pick up devices such as Chromecast or allow iOS users to select Airplay. Please note that not all TVs are compatible with these features and may require an alternative method of connecting. The app has some instructions of how to connect your phone to your TV using cables. 

If you wish to stream directly from your laptop you can do so directly from our Live Streaming Timetable.

HOW DO I JOIN A LIVESTREAM CLASS?

When in the app, select the Live Streaming button and select the day and class you would like to join. Click the Live Stream button at the bottom of the screen and your Live stream class will begin when the instructor goes live.

CAN I GET A REMINDER FOR MY CLASS?

Absolutely. Select the desired class you would like to take part in and click the button ‘ADD TO CALENDAR’. You will then be asked for permission for ANGUSalive to access your calendar and if you are happy with this, select OK and your class will be added to your calendar.

HOW DO I BOOK A CLASS AT MY LOCAL SPORTS CENTRE?

Currently, all our centres are closed but we are really excited that when they open, you will be able to book onto your favourite class from wherever you are.

You’ll be able to book quickly and easily in the app, simply by selecting the class and hitting book. The app also allows you to select your favourite classes, which are visible under the favourites tile in the app, making booking your favourite classes even easier!

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL A CLASS?

Cancelling classes is done easily by selecting the my bookings tile. This will let you see what you’ve booked and cancel any classes as required.

I AM NOT A MEMBER OF ANGUSALIVE, CAN I STILL BOOK ONTO A CLASS AND PAY ON ARRIVAL TO THE CENTRE?

Classes can be booked by a non-member on the app. Pay-as-you-go members can still have an account which will allow them to book and pay via the app. Card details are securely stored allowing customers to quickly pay for activities when they return to make a booking for the 2nd time and thereafter.

CAN I CHANGE WHICH CENTRE APPEARS IN MY APP?

Yes, this is done by selecting the 3 horizontal lines at the top left of the app. You can then navigate to ‘my clubs’ which will allow you to select other sites from the list once you’ve hit the + sign.

CAN I TURN ON/OFF PUSH NOTIFICATIONS?

Yes this is done in the phone settings like any other app on your smartphone.
