ANGUSalive Libraries Home Delivery Service returns
ANGUSalive Libraries are delighted to restart the Home Delivery Service for Angus residents from Monday 10 May, 2021.
Residents will be able sign up to ANGUSalive’s Monthly Delivery Service where books can be delivered straight to homes and collected when they are ready to return.
This service can be particularly helpful for residents who may find it difficult to visit their local library due to age, disability or may have a caring responsibility.
The Home Delivery Service complements the Mobile Library Service provided by vans Isla and Glen, who are already out on the road visiting many rural parts of Angus to help the local community access library books and other helpful services.
Philip Brown, Operations Lead at ANGUSalive Libraries said: “We’re delighted to have opened our doors again but we know that many people can find it hard to get to a library or may still be worried about Covid-19 therefore our home delivery service can provide that additional support.
“A member of our team will be able to chat with people about their reading preferences and also suggest and recommend books depending on their interests and preferences. Our library staff will visit homes to deliver and collect returned books in a socially distanced and Covid-secure way.”
ANGUSalive libraries are also open for Limited Browsing and library members can now begin reserving stock they wish to borrow. Anyone who has borrowed books prior to lockdown are asked to return them to their local library at their earliest convenience. It’s important the libraries can continue to offer the full range or books to residents and also enable the reservation of popular books that may be out on loan.
Face-to-face ACCESS enquiries are now available for anyone who cannot use digital or telephone channels to contact the service. This service provides support with Blue Badge applications, Housing Applications as well as applying for an NEC card (Bus Pass).
