Autumn Deadline: Tuesday 10th November 2020 at 5pm

Winter deadline: Tuesday 2nd February 2021 at 5pm

In partnership with Creative Scotland and Angus Council, ANGUSalive have established a VACMA scheme to assist individual artists and makers at all stages of their career with their creative development.

Visual Artists and Craft Makers living and practicing in Angus are invited to apply for a new round for 2020/2021, of bursaries of £500 or £750, for the development of their creative practice. This covers costs associated with developing practice including researching, creating and presenting new work or advancing skills, technical ability and ideas.

The awards are allocated for individuals to undertake self-determined artistic and professional development. The aim is to support artistic experimentation and creation of new work that adds to the growing reputation of Angus’ artistic community and helps individuals to develop their skills and talent.

This year, in recognition of the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on individual travel and classes, the programme will offer fixed fee bursaries for the development of creative practice. The scheme acknowledges the limitations placed on individual practices and the opportunities that are currently available. The VACMA scheme offers two levels of bursaries and you should apply for the one that best suits your situation.

Bursaries of £500 are available for New Graduates/Emerging Artists/Makers. Applicants must have less than 5 years’ experience outside of education or training or to have graduated in 2015 or later.

Bursaries of £750 are available for more Established Artists/Makers.
