Keeping our customers and colleagues safe

In our approach for recovery it is essential we take all the necessary steps to protect the safety, health and wellbeing of our employees and customers.

We are working hard by implementing the policies, measures and training which are necessary to make our employees and customers feel comfortable and safe when they return.

Help us all stay safe by following the guidance below to combat COVID-19.

When visiting our venues please follow the below guidance at our venues to keep customers and colleagues safe:

  • Follow all directional signage, barrier restrictions and one way systems around the building.
  • Face coverings are now mandatory when attending our cultural venues (Libraries & Museums).
  • When visiting our Sports Centres we ask that you wear a face covering in communal areas such as corridors and reception areas.
  • Please book and pay for your sessions and activities online and in advance or book and pay in advance over the telephone.
  • If you are unable to book and pay in advance please pay via a contactless transaction. Cash will be accepted but we would like to keep this to a minimum.
  • Where hygiene stations are provided please use sanitiser upon entry to our venue.
  • Please report immediately to a member of staff if you observe anyone not adhering to rules and guidelines and potentially putting others at risk.
  • We ask that if you have been displaying symptoms of COVID-19 or living with someone who has been displaying symptoms of COVID-19 that you do not use our venues and follow government guidance.
  • There are Test and Protect measures in place where details will be taken. This is Scotland’s approach to implementing the Test, Trace, Isolate, Support, Strategy - a public health measure designed to break chains of transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community.

To ensure the safety and well-being of our customers and employees we will:

  • Provide hand sanitiser stations, paper towels and cleaning solutions.
  • Install Perspex screens at reception areas.
  • Clean all high contact areas every hour e.g. doors, toilets and desks.
  • Clean equipment regularly.
  • Follow all government advice in making our facilities as safe as possible for our customers.
  • There are Test and Protect measures in place where details will be taken. This is Scotland’s approach to implementing the Test, Trace, Isolate, Support, Strategy - a public health measure designed to break chains of transmission of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the community.

In addition, detailed risk assessments are carried out in advance of occupying any of our buildings and part of the planning of service delivery.

Risk assessments will be reviewed and updated on a regular basis as guidance and restrictions change. These may ease, or other restrictions may be reintroduced, depending on the level of virus within our community.

Once our Sports Centres re-open, everyone attending our fitness suites should read and follow the below guidance:

  • Please book and pay for your sessions online in advance or book and pay over the telephone in advance.
  • Please use paper towel and spray provided to wipe down equipment before and after each use and dispose of paper towels in the bins located in the halls or classes.
  • Our water dispensing units will be out of use so please bring in your own water/refreshments.
  • You must adhere strictly to Fitness Suite booking times and class times.
  • Late entry to classes may not be permitted.
  • Please do not leave the class early or put away equipment until asked to do so by the coach.
  • There will be no changing room and shower provision so please arrive ready for your session.
  • Please leave the building promptly after your session.
  • At the start of the class please stand on the distancing markers in place.
  • Queenax units are out of use at this time.

Our pools will initially be available for lane swimming (competent lane swimmers only).

Please be aware of the new Covid-secure process for arriving and exiting our pools.

  • Customers must book and pay for sessions online or over the phone prior to visiting the pool
  • Customers are asked to please shower prior to visiting the swimming pool and to come to the pool ‘beach ready’.  This will help us maintain physical distancing in poolside areas such as showers
  • Customers will get access to the poolside where they will pick up a numbered container, this will correspond with a changing area/cubicle number that they must use when their session is finished
  • Customers will be asked to remove outdoor shoes when on poolside but are welcome to change into clean indoor shoes such as flip flops
  • Customers shall then stand at the corresponding number on poolside to get changed and place their items in a container
  • Customers will be allocated a lane to swim in, customers should remain in this lane and swim in the agreed direction of travel and maintain physical distancing (unless overtaking).
  • After their session customers can have a quick rinse in the shower then collect their container.  Customers should not bring in soap/shampoo for a full shower this will not be permitted
  • After showering customers will make their way to the changing rooms and use the corresponding cubicle to their container number.  If the changing area is full then the Lifeguards will monitor access from poolside
  • Customers should dry off and change as quickly as possible before leaving by the changing room exit so containers and cubicles can be cleaned and sanitised for the next session
  • Customers can leave their container in the cubicle
  • During this time we are sorry that customers will be unable to use hairdryers or mirrors
  • Thanks again for your cooperation!
